Publication: NIDS in a Lightbulb

2024 | Liam Daly Manocchio

We are thrilled to announce a new publication, from RIFT and The University of Queensland. Our efforts have resulted in a paper presented at the International Telecommunications and Networking Conference, showcasing industry-leading performance in network intrusion detection across several benchmark datasets.

Setting New Standards in Network Security

In an era where cyber threats are constantly evolving, network security is of paramount importance. RIFT has risen to the challenge by developing a cutting-edge network intrusion detection system that outperforms state-of-the-art, with close to 99 percent detection accuracy across four widely used NIDS benchmark datasets.

Our research has yielded impressive results, demonstrating the effectiveness of our system in identifying and mitigating intrusion attempts.

Compact and Powerful

What sets our system apart is its scalability. We not only demonstrated state-of-the-art performance, but we did so on a standard consumer smart lightbulb. Yes, you read that correctly! Despite its compact size, our network intrusion detection system, developed using our NoiseWhale approach, delivers industry-leading performance.

The Right Fit for Every Task

RIFT and the NoiseWhale engine are known for their adaptability and versatility. Our network intrusion detection system is no exception. With a proven track record of success across diverse environments, our system offers peace of mind to businesses and institutions seeking robust machine learning solutions. Our systems can adapt to the unique challenges of each end-user, providing tailored protection that goes beyond one-size-fits-all approaches.

Join Us in Shaping the Future

At RIFT we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Our collaborative research is just one example of our commitment to innovation and excellence.

If you are passionate about cybersecurity and want to be a part of our mission to secure the digital landscape, we invite you to connect with us. Together, we can continue to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect networks and data from evolving threats.

Stay tuned for more updates on our research.
